Silver Mining Tutorial + using Docsaintly's Stone Crusher

5 Stone Colors, 5 Base Colors, 5 Base Shapes
4+ All Same or All Different (T5)
3+ All Same of All Different (T6)

Note: This was originally written in T5 so the screenshots at bottom are showing patterns of 4 stones.
Tale 6 is now 3 stones so you will only see 3 stones in Stone Crusher solutions, instead of 4, as it suggests in screenshot. The principle is still the same.

Note: it does not matter the sequence/number you label the stones!

Ok, now we are ready to input the information into the Stone Crusher application. Note, it does not matter which row you use for which attribute. It does not matter what name you assign each box (ie You can use "R" for Red, "Y" for Yellow or you can type the entire word of Red/Yellow out. Just as long as you are consistent with the same name (label) in the same row. The same is true for base shapes. In my example, I will use number 1-5 in the entire row for base shapes. I could use the words or I could create a new word, it does not matter. The only thing that matters is that I use the same label, consistently, in each row.

If you look at the stone crusher application and choose Silver. Columns A, B, C are available. This is for the 3 attributes of silver: Base Shapes, Stone Colors, Base Colors. Column A can be used for any of the three attributes (ie I can make Column A be Base shapes, stone colors or base colors). So in other words, I can use Column A for Base colors; Column B for Stone colors; Column C for Base Shapes. Or, I can use Column A for Base Shapes; Column B for Base Colors; Column C for Stone colors. It does not matter. Assign them to what is easiest for you to remember and use.

However, in my examples, I will use the following method:
  • Column A = Base Shapes (again, I will use Numbers as labels; but I could use names, instead, if I wanted)
  • Column B = Stone Colors
  • Column C = Base Colors

    For colors, I will use the following letters to identify the colors. But you can use anything you want, but be consistent:

    GY = Gray
    GN = Green
    R = Red
    Y(Y) = Yellow
    B = Blue
    C = Cyan (Celeste)
    P = Pink

    Tip: There is a simple mining assisting macro on Doc's wiki page. You assign each ore, 1-10 and when you are ready to mine, you just press the correct Numpad key. Numpad 1 will select stone 1, Numpad 2 will select stone 2, etc. So in the below example, you just need to press Numpad 1 2 7 8 to highlight the correct stones (Then manually press S button). The macro is optional and does not need to be used. However, it can also serve another purpose of making less mistakes and speed up productivity. Here is how:

  • Work the mine and immediately hover each ore and assign it (Numpad 0 over each ore stone). Upon completion, you no longer have to remember which ore stone is which number. It does not matter what order you do this in.
  • Now when you are ready to input stone 1 into the Stone Crusher app, press Numpad 1 and it will be selected/highlighted. Input the attributes into Stone Crusher. When finished, press Numpad 1 again and it will unhighlight/deselect it.
  • Repeat for the remaining 9 stones. By doing this, you know that you are entering the correct stone number into the application. Why? Because it is highlighted, so there is no mistakes of which stone is what number. So this can save a lot of time instead of trying to remember which stone is which number. Whatever number you press on the Numpad, will show you the correct stone number and avoid possible confusion and mistakes. Then press the same Numpad key to unhighlight and move onto the next one :)

    This is the info you will enter into Stonecrusher. See how it matches the "Silver Mine Screenshot Attributes" table, above?

    Solution 1, for this silver mine screenshot is 1, 2, 7, 8   (4 All Different)

    Solution 2, for this silver mine screenshot is 2, 4, 5, 8   (4 All Different)

    And I just got 9 silver showing this tutorial :)
